Bar Pizza

Hello, and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

This is one of the dishes I made for game day — an easy and super delicious bar pizza.

The one big difference between this pizza and others is that I don’t use any flour to roll out the pizza dough. Once the dough is proofed, I spread it out by hand with olive oil, pulling gently until each side stays pinned in the corners.

I don’t make the pizza dough from scratch. I usually just buy a ball of dough from the supermarket and allow it to proof until it doubles in size.

I use my homemade sauce on the pizza. The recipe for my homemade sauce can be found HERE.

This is my favorite type of pizza to eat. After having it with oil rather than flour, I realized oil is the way to go. The bottom creates a golden crispy crust.

I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 of a 16 oz jar of Sauce
  • 1/2 block of Mozzarella cheese, shredded (1/2 lb)
  • 1 lb of pizza dough, proofed to be double it’s original size
  • 3 Tbsp of olive oil

Directions:

  • In a medium sized bowl add 3 Tbsp of olive oil and coat the pizza dough on both sides. Cover with a dish towel and set aside until the dough doubles in size.
  • Shred 1/2 block of Mozzarella and set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 550 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once the dough is ready, transfer the dough onto an 11×17 baking sheet, along with the oil from the bowl.
  • Spread the dough out by hand with olive oil, pulling gently until each side and the corners stay against the edges of the sheet.
  • Evenly spread 2/3 of a 16 oz jar of Sauce over the dough, leaving a little space on the edges for the crust.
  • Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the sauce.
  • Bake in the oven for approximately 11-13 minutes, depending on your oven.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Enjoy!
